4-H Workshop Request
4-H wants to do more workshops for kids on April 29th and would like to know if our group is interested. Laura suggested a workshop on fairy gardens, which sounds great! If you would like to help, please contact Laura or Sandy.
Our new intern is Amissa Pollard. Amissa works at the Mille Lacs County Courthouse. I hope we all get to meet her soon! Welcome, Amissa!
Wild Parsnip Alert!
Be on the lookout for the invasive wild parsnip. Wild parsnip grows in large patches or as scattered plants along roadsides, in abandoned fields, on pastures, on restored prairies, and in disturbed open areas. And, according to observers around the state, its range has been expanding rapidly in recent decades. Wild parsnip can cause extensive burns that show up as streaks or long spots. These burns are very painful!
EAB speaker, Jen Schultz, is coming to Milaca so we discussed having our meeting at that time and opening Jen's talk to the public. Date to be determined.
Fall PICKM Gathering
The gathering will be in North Branch at the Senior Center, Oct. 17th. Save the date!
